Analysis of the BIESS loan portfolio from 2016 to 2020

This article provides information on the changes in the BIESS loan portfolio over the last 5 years. The objective was to analyze how the composition of the loan portfolio has evolved and to identify the type of loans that have increased the most. The article uses quantitative information to show the annual percentage of personal and mortgage loans that make up the BIESS portfolio, based on the dollar volume of loans from 2016 to 2020. Similarly, the article analyzes quantitative information to identify the destination of personal loans between 2016 and 2020 and mortgage loans between 2019 and 2020. In conclusion, a significant change in the composition of the BIESS loan portfolio is observed, with a significant increase in personal loans both in absolute values and in their percentage within the portfolio. Meanwhile, the volume of mortgage loans has decreased in absolute values and as a percentage of the portfolio.
